"Zen is a liberation from time. For if we open our eyes and see clearly, it becomes obvious that there is no other time than this instant, and that the past and the future are abstractions without any concrete reality."
- Alan Watts
Sweet and precious, good people, I wish you a Saturday afternoon with the "face similar" to that of the wonderful morning that I experienced just a "few beats ago."
To wit: once a month a group of us, men who go by the tag "The Haskin Park Codgers"π€£, meet at a local eatery, Jack's, in the name of "just because" and to break bread together.
From the time that I make preparations to meet with this impeccable group of human beings until the time of my departure from the same, any "down" that I was previously accosted by is temporarily and surely paralyzed at its core by a smile that I can NOT shake for the great company that I keep with individuals from all walks of life, in that "moment and place."
Different from one another in as many ways as there are snowflakes during a blizzard in the middle of the winter, we are nonetheless similar in our aspirations to contribute in a myriad of ways to the possibiity of peace, harmony, understanding ... and hope. And this is accomplished in a vey "organic" manner as there are no soapboxes mounted or preaching done, but, and don't laugh there is surely love.
Love, that catalyst, that brings about change, free of the complications that pain can sometimes bring to bear.
The moment, truly is all that any of us have. In the name of this sobering reality let us endeavor to make it a point to bring our "best dish" to the potluck that is our determination to lead our best life, individually, and then collectively.
There is joy to be found at "every turn," but ONLY if we make the intentional determination to live our lives with a heaping helping of goodwill, powered by love.
The Haskin Park Codgers do itπ, so can you. So let's, yeah?
Remember, all we have is the the moment. Let us always live and encourage others to live that moment wisely and with an eye on CARING for one another as much as we care for and about ourselves, right?
Celebrate the day and be open, please, to the day celebrating YOU.
Much love and many blessings.
Your friend, Joyce's boy, aka "Fast Binky"π€£
