For you, to you, about you ... .

Please read (sorry for the length)😊👍🏽

"The wolf will live with the lamb,

the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; And a Little Child Will Lead Them"

(My upper case)

Isaiah 11:6

Good morning/afternoon, my family, my friends, and my neighbors,

Today, I wish you the eyes, ears, heart and understanding of a Child.

Please allow me poetic license for choosing the scripture/quote that I have chosen as a gateway to and for today's blog.

The blog😊:

This morning, while I sat in MY😊 and Hiram Arvada Haskin's beautiful, peaceful, and inspiring park, embraced by a chilling "34 degrees" and teased by the presence of an only half-committed sun, I had an experience "for the ages."

This message is for EVERYONE. Please do not let your race, creed, color ... or anything else😊 block your heart from hearing the dulcet tones of a child's "intentional voice."

To wit:

In a pause between the wonderful hustle and bustle of my two and four-legged constituency😊😊😊, and clients🐶🐶🐶, 🤣, I chanced to see two young children climbing the west-side path leading to The Bench (of Hope, as so named by a couple of my friends😊).

The tiny little girl, with the face of an angel, "leading the pack," while her older brother, (I am assuming) followed her close enough to, I am sure, protect her if necessary🤗.

A three minute hike saw them finally arriving at The Bench🤣.

I gave them a very hearty and welcoming "good morning, while looking around to see if they had anyone accompanying them. Seeing no one, we continued our conversation by my asking them if they were having a good day and enjoying the beginning of their 4-day weekend. They answered, of course😊, in the affirmative.

Following a pause of about 5 looong seconds, the little girl looked up at me with her angel eyes, extended to me a single long-stemmed red flower with a square piece of paper attached, and said, in the most adorable voice, "Here, this is for you."

Note: this is what was printed on the paper:

Side one: outlined by a heart - Jesus loves you.

Side 2: John: 3:16

For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

Her face lit up with joy as I commenced thanking her and her brother, breathlessly I might add, for their thoughtful, kind, and beautiful gift to me.

By now the little boy, her brother, is smiling, big time, and thoroughly enjoying the moment, along with his sister.

So as not to hold these sweet children too long, I bid them adieu with a "million" more "have a good days" and "thank yous" accompanied by a fist bump for each of them!!

As they turned to walk away they both turned back around and in stereo😊 wished me a Happy Valentine's Day. For any of you who might be wondering, the answer is a resounding NO!!!! I could not "find the ground" when it was my turn to head for the "home fires." I traveled the whole road home, on a cloud.🥰

Here's the thing: we live in a country which is being riddled with the deadly bullets of hatred, divisiveness ... and MASSIVE misunderstandings, sponsored by a weak and decidedly trifling group of politicians who are being led, guided, and directed by, well, no one. Because the White House is bankrupt of any and all possible leadership. The White House is in fact ruled by an evil and despicable convicted felon ... .

An overlord with no compassion, empathy, or sympathy, a "man" who is out of his element when it comes to leading anyone or anything.

I think, and often, that this America, our America, is losing its heart ... and then these two beautiful children happened to me!

They didn't know or care anything about me except, maybe, that I am a nice and decent man (hopefully🫰🤣) and that was enough to make them smile and enough for them to inspire me to smile.

They "get it."

What a great place to start from ... simple warm-hearted acceptance, delivered on the wings of the willingness to smile at, to, and for one another..

In spite of all of the obvious obstacles, I yet "think we can," rise in the collective to grab the "brass ring of better."

Thank you, dear children, for inspiring my hope and leading me back to a bigger smile.

You WOWED me, and I hope to one day see you again and meet your parents so that I can tell all of you, thank you for making this America, my America, and our America, better, already.

I'll close with these words from the song "Smile" as sung by the late Michael Jackson:

🎶"Smile though your heart is aching

Smile, even though it's breaking

When there are clouds in the sky

You'll get by

If you smile with your fear and sorrow

Smile, and maybe tomorrow

You'll find that life is still worthwhile

If you just

Smile"🎶

So much love, so many hugs, and blessings in great abundance, to all of you, them, us, and we.🤗

Your friend, Joyce's boy, aka "Fast Binky."🤣

🤗❤️🙏🎉
