"The mind of the beginner is empty, free of the habits of the expert, ready to accept, to doubt, and open to all the possibiities."
- Shunryu Suzuki
Beloved family, friends, and neighbors,
I wish you, each of you, an open mind and a willing heart.
I wish you that and an abundance of all of those things that encourage your soul to sing.
The holiday season in all of its glory is fast upon us. In fact, it is already a wrap for Thanksgiving.
For me, the perfect time for quiet contemplation.
I've spent the last "minute and a half" away from my post in MY😊and Hiram Arvada Haskins beatiful park and sanctuary, tweaking this, and turning that, in my heart, soul, and mind. I've shared with you in blogs before the fact that if I am to have a legacy I want it to be that I was a decent man who did his best to be kind and understanding in the moment; all of them. And, that's thirsty work😅During the assessment and repair of my heart, soul, and mind I weathered the storms of sadness, I encountered, as well, the sunshine and blue sky of happiness. And, a million things, if one, in between.
I like to think and believe that I am mindful of how I live my life every day, but this particular intentional examination of where I am in my journey has come to a place of pausing.
I'll return to my post on the morrow, secure in my understanding of who I am and what I am about; a little wiser, a little stronger, and a whole bunch more determined😊.
My intention is to be "better."
I want to inspire, yes, in the tiniest😊 ways possible, happiness, hope, and laughter, in the hearts and minds of my family, friends, and neighbors; strangers even.
And, I want to thank each one of you for the LARGE inspiration that you have provided for my "life and ways."
Pleasant+ people are priceless and you've been that times a thousand for the musings of this mother's son.
Another beautiful day and all of you beautiful people. Reflecting on that, yes, beautiful reality, what's bad🥰.
I'll close with this:
"To love is to be present. It is the art of giving oneself fully to the moment."
- Zen Master Thich Nhat Hahn
It's the season, yeah?
Let's start giving and then, never stop.
I wish you light, laughter, love, and "blessings formidable."
Joyce's boy,
"Fast Binky"
